23rd MHVP All-In-One Mission

As an institution that commits itself to exemplify compassion, altruism, and humanitarianism – the MJB Cares Foundation still continues to move in full throttle as it participated in the recently concluded 23rd Mindanao Humanitarian Volunteers for Peace (MHVP): All-In-One Mission 2022 held at San Vicente Palawan from Nov 3-5, 2022.

San Vicente is a municipality nestled in the northwest of Palawan’s mainland, bounded by the Philippine West Sea in the West, the municipality of Taytay in the north, Roxas in the East, and the City of Puerto Princessa in the Southwest. It is the home of the longest beach in the Philippines.

The 23rd MHVP’s Medical Mission successfully aided a total of 5,160 beneficiaries who availed the free medical and other essential services: eye surgery, free checkups, blood typing & blood glucose, hygiene kits distribution, and optometric services.

Not all 10 barangays of San Vicente are within near proximity. Some people live on a different island and need to cross over a deep cerulean water. It was a predicament as it was expensive to rent out a boat. Fortunately, Amihan Sabihon of Port Barton, AFP DWDD Reporter/Member, Defense Press Corps has a heart ready to give. She took the initiative to arrange for people to be transported from other far-flung islands to San Vicente in addition to identifying those in need of medical assistance.

We were overwhelmed and grateful to hear the beneficiaries’ expressions of happiness and appreciation.

“Twelve (12) po lahat (ang naoperahan), 5 pterygium, 7 cataract po. Yung isang may glaucoma, ‘di po iyon naoperahan (delikado daw po). Sixteen (16) po mabibigyan ng salamin”

“kay Dra at sa buong team, super thankful po kaming lahat na natulungan nyo po. Walang hanggang pasasalamat po.”

“One community problem that we have is an insufficient number of trained or competent health personnel/volunteers to complement the health emergency needs of the community esp. GIDAs.” -Dra. Grace Pablico, Municipality Health Officer of San Vicente

“For the recently concluded med mission, we are so grateful to be chosen as recipients of the services esp. Cataract surgery. It was the very first eye surgery conducted in the municipality. And it’s free…thank you for your excellent service to our people.”

“Salamat po sa liwanang ninyong alay sa mga matang muntik nang mawalan nang kulay.”

“Daghang salamat sa inyong tanan”

We thank the partners, donors, doctors, LGU of San Vicente, and volunteers who made this medical mission a triumphant one.

MJB Cares Foundation strives to deliver promising and exceptional activities – all in the name of love for service.
