MJB Cares Foundation donates to CRIBS Foundation

A foundation that safeguards women and children, the CRIBS Foundation, Inc. continues to become a shelter for abused and abandoned children.

Mrs. Josefina M. Dimalaluan, Executive Director of the CRIBS foundation, stated that some of the babies are simply abandoned on the streets or in garbage cans, but it is still unjust to subject an innocent angel to such treatment.

The abandoned children are surrendered to the foundation, where they are cared for, nurtured, and loved. It is the foundation’s goal to find them a permanent home, whether domestic or international. They follow a thorough triad: healing, recovery, and reintegration. Inside the institution, the staff strives to create an atmosphere where the child will feel psychological safety and security. The best interest of the child is of the utmost importance.

More than just taking care of the victims, they also subscribe to a holistic approach by educating awareness in their area through orientation in schools, partnerships with the local barangays, and outreach to the general community. They encourage victims to speak up about their truths and find sanctuary if they need to.

Just recently, the MJB Cares Foundation donated vitamins and aceite de manzanilla to the CRIBS Foundation. It’s imperative that these little warriors and survivors have the physical strength to battle the long days ahead of them.

Ms. Francie Chambers and Mr. Josh Buchin from the US Embassy’s INDOPACOM Augmentation Team (PAT) joined us and donated school and office supplies like glue, binders, envelopes, fasteners, microphones, bond paper, copy paper, printer ink, staplers, folders, tape, and tape dispensers. The foundation will benefit from this in their daily operations, and it will also encourage kids to express themselves through art. It should come as no surprise that they have a room filled with not only artwork but also accounts of their survival. (Some of their artwork is up for purchase. You may DM them on Facebook.)

We are grateful to the CRIBS Foundation for its nearly 50-year commitment to protecting women and children.
