MJB Cares Foundation: The light in the dark
MJB Cares Foundation has set in stone the commitment to deliver exceptional development projects to foster and alleviate secluded armed conflict communities.
Last November 25, 2022, it shed light and hope to Barangay Tabon, Municipality of Vallehermoso, Negros Oriental as it turned over and installed Solar Lamps for over 1,200 beneficiaries.
The “Liwanag Para sa Kapayapaan” project is a collaborative effort of MJB Cares Foundation with Rotary Club of Makati Ayala Triangle in partnership with 62nd Infantry (Unifier) Batallion, Civil Military Operations Regiment with other co-host clubs of Rotary Club, Local Task Force to End Local Community Armed Conflict (LTF-ELAC) and LGU of Vallehermoso.
The delivery of all 400 Solar lamps from Manila to Negros was no small feat. It should have been costly and time consuming. Fortunately, the Civil Military Operations Regiment and 62nd Infantry Unifier Battalion took care of the logistics and made the necessary 24/7 coordination to ensure that the Solar lamps will arrive securely and on time.
– Hon. Alfredo M Lira Jr. Barangay chairman of Barangay Tabon
The Philippine Army together with the LGU are striving to combat insurgent malicious NPA groups who continues to lay havoc in the municipality of Vallehermoso.
Just recently, there has been 7 different battle encounters with this said group whose sole advocacy is to spread black propaganda, intimidation, and coercion.
It has been difficult to weed out every single one of them as they are thriving for more than 50 years in the most darkest area of the community.
This is the ultimate reason why Solar Lamps in this community plays a vital role. Not only that this will help brighten their homes during the darkest nights but to also bring hope to their hearts that one day, peace could be attained.
“We are soft power that connects the LGU with the Armed forces of the Philippines.“
– Mrs. Mary Joy Bustamante
Founder, MJB Cares Foundation
The foundation truly believes that working together is of massive importance because when different groups mobilize as one, with a benevolent heart to the community as a common denominator, everything becomes systematic and manageable.
“Mahayag na ang akong pag tuon ug mahayag na pud ang akong kaugmaon. Daghang salamat MJB Cares Foundation!“
– Local Resident in Barangay Tabon
We draw our strength and power from the smiles drawn in the faces of the children and other beneficiaries.
“Di lang mag bibigay ng liwanag (kahayag) kundi Paglaom (Pag-asa). May puso sa logo. Kase May puso ang MJB Cares Foundation. Pag asa at pag ibig.”

MJB Cares Foundation will continue to be a beacon of love, light, and hope to communities deprived of their liberty to enjoy lasting peace that they truly deserve.
