Education opens the threshold to opportunities and a bright future. Every child should have been given equal access to that right. That is precisely the reason why the MJB Cares Foundation, together with Dra. Maria Theresa Heyrosa, puts a premium on supporting them, as we donated 334 school shoes to Tagaytay Elementary School in Carcar, Cebu, on May 9, 2023.
Tagaytay Elementary School is located at such a high altitude that it is quite difficult to get there. It is approximately 20 minutes away from the main city. The road going to our beneficiary community has no solid pavement. It is a muddy and treacherous road. Children would walk along this muddy path just to reach their school. It is without doubt that these children are eager to learn. The determination is evident in their eyes. Upon receiving the said shoes, they were bursting with joy, as they now have a new pair of shoes that will aid them in their journey to a better future. It is our goal to have an extensive reach, especially in the most far-flung areas.
The collaboration of the organizations and volunteers has generated a sustainable medium of learning and growth that will ensure the children’s secure future. The genuine smile of these children upon receiving the donations is what drives us to do more projects like this. The foundation tries its best to be inclusive and responsive to the necessities of the communities. In achieving a better future, no one ought to be left behind, no matter how far they are.
